Did Someone Say Kid-Friendly Smoothies? HIDE THE VEGGIES!

The only smoothie I know that a kid would happily demolish are the ones packed full of everything under the sun except what’s good for them!

Do your kids eat their vegetables?  Or are they the ones that move their greens around and around on their plate while they dream up excuses why they don’t need to eat them?

Fussier kids that won’t eat fruit?!  How do you get the kids to consume wholesome, nutritious foods – also known as fruit and vegetables – without all the fuss!

EASY!  And we are going to show you how!  It’s called SMOOTHIES!

So get out the blender, it will become a permanent fixture on your kitchen sink.

Firstly, into the blender goes the liquid – you can use either water or milk – try variations like soy, rice, or almond milk for a healthy alternative.
Then add the vegetables:  kale, spinach, cucumber – experiment with these for taste.

And then add fruits to cover your tracks.  Banana, mangos, pineapples, oranges are all good choices.  Dark fruits like blackberries or blueberries to cover up the green vegetables.  And a good tip for using those   Handy for the kid’s smoothies.

And finally, for more taste and lets be honest, camouflage, a spoon of peanut butter, vanilla or yogurt works a treat!

It’s surprising how even kids who swear nothing green will ever pass their lips will happily put away one of these, blissfully ignorant of the power-packed leafy greens hidden amongst the fruit.  So hide the vegies amongst the fruit and give your kids a healthy burst of energy.
