Sooo many questions, and plenty of places to look for answers however we’re gonna try answer your questions in this one place and, hopefully, you will find a solution that suits you!

Almost all of us have suffered at one time or another from heartburn!  Many people suffer from constant heartburn but because they don’t address the heartburn causes, they look to over-the-counter heartburn medications for a quick fix, a temporary patch job, instead of looking at how to prevent heartburn and, more importantly, how to get rid of heartburn once and for all!

In this video we're gonna cover heartburn symptoms and causes of heartburn and we’ll try to answer the question:  what is the best natural heartburn remedy and heartburn medicine.  As you can see, here at StayHealthyTV, we prefer home remedies for heartburn, and we’re gonna share with you completely natural remedies for heartburn that are easy to follow, you probably already have most of these ingredients at home and you can start immediately.

But first, let’s look at what heartburn is and the early warning signs and symptoms of heartburn.  Acid reflux is actually a fairly common condition.  It’s characterized by a burning pain, known as heartburn, and felt internally around the lower chest area, just behind your breast bone, that sometimes travels up your throat, often after eating.  It’s caused by stomach acid flowing back up into the oesophagus, that’s the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach.

So here are our suggestions for acid reflux relief:

1. Chewing Gum:  As amazing as it sounds, chewing gum can really help with heartburn!  Chewing gum can help relieve the burning sensation.  Chewing gum after meals increases saliva production, and then what happens?  It’s this saliva that dilutes the acid that’s travelling up from your stomach, and it helps fluids go back down into the stomach.  The saliva is also more alkaline, helping to neutralize stomach acid.

2. Baking Soda:  This is a natural antacid that almost everyone has in the kitchen cupboard.  Drinking a little mixed with water can help neutralize stomach acid.  The soda will stop the burning sensation.  Simply add 1 tsp of baking soda to a glass of water, mix and drink it all down.

3 Aloe Juice:  Aloe is more than a sunburn reliever.  Because it reduces inflammation it may be able to help with heartburn too.  With half a cup of aloe vera juice you can soothe the burning feeling on your throat in a similar way that aloe vera helps to soothe sunburn on the skin.  Drink ½ a cup of aloe juice before meals.

4 Chamomile Tea:  This is an awesome tea to help you relax and it can also help stop inflammation from occurring in the stomach.  Ideally, drink this tea about an hour before bed, giving it time to work and to stop acid from easily travelling up from your stomach when you do go to bed.  Stir 1 tsp of dried chamomile petals into boiling water, simmer for a minute, then steep for a minute before straining and drinking.  A little lemon or a dash of honey can be added for extra taste.

5 Almonds:  Eat almonds regularly as a snack and you’ll soon see the benefit.  Almonds are a perfectly natural way to soothe heartburn, eat them after each meal or snack on them during the day and you’ll find the acids in your stomach are neutralized and heartburn just doesn’t happen.  It’s an amazing natural remedy that doesn’t cost a lot (and is enjoyable!)

6 Apple Cider Vinegar:  ACV helps calm the stomach and lowers the pH of the stomach contents to reduce the pressure build up.  Add 2 tsp of ACV to a ¼ cup of water and drink.  This is a fast-acting natural cure for heartburn.

7 And this final tip is all about lifestyle:  Combining smoking and drinking creates the perfect situation for you to get heartburn.  Alcohol and nicotine make it easy for the contents of your stomach to splash around and move up past the sphincter and into the oesophagus.

Making lifestyle changes can help in relieving the symptoms of heartburn, and these include quitting smoking, avoiding overeating, losing weight for those who are overweight, avoiding alcohol, eating slowly, putting on loose-fitting clothes and avoiding foods that might trigger heartburn.

These 7 simple home remedies for acid reflux are highly effective but want to know the best part?  Most of the ingredients can normally be found right there in your kitchen!

Want to know how to get rid of heartburn? Well here’s the secret: you must RESTORE your natural gastric balance and function.  And here’s the kicker: You can almost always do this naturally, without the help of medications or chemicals.
